If you can’t access Outlook 2013 to disable hardware acceleration, create the DisableHardwareAcceleration registry subkey. To do this, follow these steps:
- Exit all instances of Office applications (for example, Office 365, Outlook, and Lync Online).
- Start Registry Editor.
- Create the following registry value:
Subkey: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice15.0CommonGraphics
DWORD: DisableHardwareAcceleration
Value: 1
